The daily flights to New York, Boston, Philadelphia and Newark were back to normal after being disrupted by the snowstorm that hit the northeastern United States. According to Hoy, many flights were suspended for as long as 72 hours because of the extreme weather conditions at the major hubs. Officials from Jet Blue, American, Delta, and Continental informed the authorities at the Las Americas International Airport that their flights were back on schedule, and passengers who had been affected by the delays were now able to travel. Dozens of flights were cancelled on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday due to the ice and snowstorms that swept across the United States. More storms are expected this weekend.
