In their second game at this year's Caribbean World Series, the team from the Dominican Republic defeated the team from Venezuela, 6-5, when Kevin Baker, the imposing first baseman, hit a towering homerun and drove in a total of three runs. The Toros del Este, representing the Dominican Republic played good baseball in their win over the Caribes de Anzoategui, representing Venezuela in this year's series. Keven Baker produced two runs with a double in the third inning and hit his big homerun in the seventh to make the difference. Wellington Castillo also contributed to the Toros' victory with a triple that scored Ruddy Yan, who was on second base. Reliever Wilkins Arias got the win. The victory evens the Toros' record at 1-1 and today they go against the host team from Puerto Rico, the Criollos de Caguas. Since the Yaquis de Obregon defeated the Criollos by a score of 7-1 last night, all four teams are now 1-1, certainly an interesting scenario going into the second round.
