Consensus on Constitutional Court

The commission of jurists appointed by President Leonel Fernandez has announced that it has reached an agreement on the legislation for the Constitutional Court that will be sent to the National Congress in the next few hours. El Nuevo Diario reports that commission chairman Mariano German announced that the technical report would be finished this week. He said that talks between members of the political leadership to overcome the stalemate about the new court were no longer needed. According to German, the report will go directly to the Chamber of Deputies. The ruling PLD party is majority in Congress.
