I have an a670 verizon that works great in the DR. Once activated call customer service and get international on your plan ( free ). They will give you new roaming programming # and you are all set. Before each trip update roaming features and you should be all set. Down side is it cost 3.79 for 5 minute call. Use your US phone for emergncies and buy a cheap a400 or a460 on ebay. Send Luca to get it activated and enjoy 6 peso calls local and 8 peso international. Much cheaper than using cell from states with int. plan. Also it will let you have the same dominican # all year round as long as it does not stay idol too long.
