While the city where they will held is yet to be determined, it is certain the DR will host the Caribbean Series next February 2012.
The Series ended on Monday in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico with the DR Toros del Este team coming in second to Mexico's Yaquis de Ciudad Obregon. This year the series was very contested, with Mexico winning 4-2. The Toros ended 3-3 after defeating Puerto Rican home team in the final game of the series. Puerto Rico also ended 3-3.
The Caribbean Series matches the best teams of four winter baseball leagues that play in the DR, Mexico Pacific, Puerto Rico and Venezuela. The series is sponsored by the Caribbean Baseball Confederation and Major League Baseball.
Four Toros players made the Caribbean Series all-star team -- third baseman Danny Richar, left fielder Ruddy Yan, center fielder Jose Constanza and pitcher Raul Valdes.
