The Ecological Park at La Cumbre on the edge of Santiago province is now open to the public. El Caribe reports that the park, located at the old Trujillo estate was refurbished in partnership with the PUCMM, the Dominican Coffee Council and the Ministry of the Environment. According to Santiago Development Association president Eduardo Trueba, the park provides a much-needed space for public recreation, and joins Duarte Park and the Yaque River Park as public access areas. Deputy Environment Minister Domingo Rodriguez hailed the newly reopened park with high words of praise for the Association and the entities that assisted in the work to reopen this working coffee farm to the public.
