Santiago to honor Manuel Ulises Bonelly

The governor of Santiago, Raul Fernandez, will head a ceremony on Thursday honoring one of the leading figures in the preservation of the Santiago Carnival's folkloric traditions, Manuel Ulises Bonelly Valverde. The ceremony will take place at 8pm at the Governor's Palace on Calle del Sol, across the street from Duarte Park. This year's carnival is dedicated to Manuel Ulises for all his years of work to make sure that Santiago does not forget its roots. His inspiration and research have allowed one of the most cherished traditions of the region to be preserved and enjoyed by all.
