A man who passed himself off as a staff member of the United States Consulate was arrested yesterday on charges of swindling US$29,000 from three people in return for visas to the United States. He was sent to preventive custody by the Judge for Permanent Attention of the National District. According to Listin Diario, Pedro Hernandez Hernandez and/or Peter West Rancy and/or Samuel Manzano was sent to jail in Najayo for three months by Judge Reynaldo Ferreira Jimeno. According to deputy prosecutor Jonathan Baro Gutierrez, the accused promised people that he would get them visas, saying he was a supervisor at the United States Embassy.
