A major breakdown in the Claro (Codetel) network partially affected the company's mobile phone services yesterday afternoon. In a brief statement, Claro communications director Jenny Abreu reported that the problem was caused by "a break in the fiber optic cable" and that the company was working to repair the damage. "Communication is in the process of being restored completely and our technicians continue to work to normalize the services affected in the shortest time possible", says Claro. Moreover, the telephone company apologized to its customers for the inconvenience and promised to keep them informed on the progress of the repairs.
