Less than two weeks to go before the opening night in Puerto Plata of the fast-paced comedy by Michael Parker, "Whose Wives are they Anyway?" at the Sosua Bay Conference Center. The farce centers on a hotel in upstate New York. A multinational cast of the North Coast Players theater company is presenting the two charity performances scheduled for Fri, 25 Feb and Sat, 26 February. Tel 809 571-2820, email judith@westindies-realestate.com
Tickets are RD$350 and are on sale at West Indies Real Estate of 26 and 27 February. The Puerto Plata community has pulled through for the successful production of the play, including La Roca Restaurant allowing space to rehearse, and Patioworx building the set, for example. The Sosua Sustainable Development Association (ADSS) has also been incredibly supportive, says Judith Fox.
Other sponsors include Casa Linda, West Indies Real Estate, Eric Urbahn & Family, Remax Coral Bay, Casa Veintiuno Hotel & Restaurant, Sea Horse Ranch, Guido Perdomo, Agua Gerico, Agua Gerico, Hispaniola Real Estate, Nice People Networking, Guzman Ariza, Surf Liquors, F10 Kite Hotel, Jolly Roger Restaurant, Century 21, Carib Wind Centre, Bill & Alison Lockwood, Bruce Wallerstein, Jenni Familia, Hache Bordas Construction, and the Casa Wine Shop.
Fox says: "Most of all this is all about the community and The North Coast Players hopes that its hard work in bringing live theater to the area will be repaid by all local residents and visitors coming to see the play, as profits benefit local charities. Perhaps in the future, more people will step forward to join the theater's cast and crew for the next play, due later this year".
