The ruling PLD political party keeps a lead of 49% of voter favor, and the PRD has 43%, and the PRSC 7%, according to a poll by Hamilton Campaign. The poll inquired who in each party has the most support and reveals that President Leonel Fernandez has a 76% rate, followed by 15% for Danilo Medina, 5% Jose Tomas Perez, and 3% Rafael Alburquerque. But if Fernandez does not run for President, then Danilo Medina shows a 49% popularity rating, followed by 25% for Jose Tomas Perez and 15% for Vice President Rafael Alburquerque. The 2010 Constitution would need to be changed for President Leonel Fernandez to be able to run for President as the Constitution bans consecutive reelection. According to reports, President Fernandez's first choice to run for office would be his Vice President.

In the PRD, 64% prefer Miguel Vargas and 35% Hipolito Mejia.

The poll was carried out from 5 to 8 February and 1,200 people were surveyed.
