While in Boca Chica, my friends and I stayed at a place called “Playa Vista Boca Chica” which is run by a British guy name “Peter” and another guy.

The address is,…..

Calle Abraham Nunez #3, La Playa
Boca Chica
Tel: 809-523-5949
Email: playa.vista@verizon.do.net (playa.vista@verizon.do.net)
www.playavistabocachica.net (http://www.playavistabocachica.net/)

The waiter is a tall guy name “Carlos”. He will serve you well. The food is excellent, the drinks are nice and cold, and I enjoyed it very much.

But I do not recommend their Pina Coladas. But everything else was fantastic!!!

Playa Vista is one of my favorite places in Boca Chica. Nice location, plus Peter and Fleming are great people.

Will they allow the bocas of some chicas to be around my pinga there? In other words is it chica friendly? The friendliest. In it's day, it used to be the place to hang. There used to be lots of girls, mostly from San Pedro. Lately it's been kind of dead.

They also have two (possibly three) rooms to rent. The big room is great for parties.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but Peter told me that there is only one room available. I asked him and he said one. I think he said it was $45 per night.

But if you book for a week or longer, he will give you a discount.

There is a waiter name Carlos. He speaks pretty good English. He will do his best and serve you well.

I did not like the Pina Coladas and the fruit juices. The fruit juices were too sour and the Pina Coladas tasted like paint. But everything else was great--the food, the service, etc.

My favorite dish at this place is the club sandwich. The sandwich is big enough for two people. :D

You are right, only one room. Peter must of went up on rate, because in past it was 35$ per night, air sucks and noisy at times. They don't actually have kitchen. The food is from various venders on beach. (e.g. pizza next door, sandwich couple restaraunts down). Cool place to chill duing day, especially on Sunday when all the peopple from Santo Domingo head to the beach.

Thank you for the information. I greatly appreciate it.

If I were to stay here for a few days, would you recommend this place?

P.S. As for the rate, I "think" he said $45. I will double-check on that.

Not really, El Candil, Costalunga and Residnce Los Pinos are nicer places to me albiet not on beach.(4-5 minure walk). If being being right on Calle Duarte or beach is your prefernce you could try Europa which is right behind Playa Vista although i'm not much a fan.

I see from your photos you like to eat, there is a pretty good Italian deli right off Duarte near the pharmacy. When in Boca i always stop in and buy a loaf of bread, olive oil, and lots of cold cuts (proscuto, mortadela, ect..) and cheese and stick in fridge to snack on.

Carlos has been relieved of his duties at Playa Vista, as well as the other dull witted females that had been working there.

A brief history.

Playa Vista was the main watering hole for most of the expats once Ronnies was closed.

Most of the expats didn't like Carlos and his attitude, and his lack of attention to customers, and started going to the BoatHouse.

The Boathouse, sensing that all was not well at Playa Vista, went so far as to offer a special "membership" card, or discount card, whatever you wanna call it, to futher entice the Playa Vista crowd to make the switch.

They guys at Playa Vista finally figured out that Carlos wasn't all he was leading them to believe(putting it nicely), so he was let go, but by then, the damage was done, the expats were all hitting the Boat House.(Not that the expats are the greatest crowd in the world either, but they're regulars. That's how most bars stay alive; the regulars)

Carlos was brought back again a month or so ago, and now has been relieved of his duties yet again, and Peter himself has taken the helm.

The expats? Now they're all going to Juan Dolio, to a little bar at some fleabag hotel that has a cute girl behind the bar, and you can swim up to the bar while you're in the pool.

Oh, and did I mention, their prices are cheaper than the Boat House and Playa Vista.

I still like Playa Vista the best.

Thank you MrHappy for sharing the information with us.

I never had a problem with Carlos. I guess it was time for all parties to move on.

I still like Playa Vista very much. Peter is a great guy!!!

Same great food and service. But the waiter, Carlos, has disappeared for ten days now. I hope he is okay.Unless things have changed, Playa Vista doesn't make their own food, they get it from one of the neighboring establishments.

You are correct. Flaco and Carlos are the same person. Not really a bad guy and steerd me right wiith regards to some of the chicas but he was not the most diligent of workers frequently not around when you needed something ..(beer, food, ect.)

Flacco was notorious for padding the drink bills.
A few of the Regulars just got sick of it and stopped going there.

I still enjoy a beer at Playa Vista when in town, The WIFI is a nice touch!

The very same.
Peter is a great friend..I hope they are able to draw their crowd back.

But the San Pedro rats really were becoming a problem.

A few were aggressive to the point of being obnoxious all the time. Three years ago I met a number of "nice" girls there..meaning pleasant and good performers. My last trip, they were about as coarse as they could be, and not at all worth the trouble of an ST.

RearWindow,
Nice avatar.

I was talking to Peter yesterday, and he specifically mentioned that business has picked up considerably in the last two or three weeks, mainly middle class Dominicans.

I never knew there was a "Middle Class"!
