In his speech yesterday, President Leonel Fernandez announced he would be sending several bills to Congress. They include the Law on the National Development Strategy, on Public Service (Public Administration), a law on Salaries for the Public Sector, a law of mobility, traffic and land transport, a Law on Expression and Communication Media, a Law on Radio, Television and the Internet, and a Law on Audiovisuals and Advertising, according to Diario Libre. They also include a bill called the Organic Law on Regions, the Organic Law on the Ministry of Foreign Relations, the Law on Trafficking of Persons and Smuggling of Migrants, the Law on Electronic Administration and the Law on Civil Aviation and Airport Security.
The President said that the government would continue creating the foundations of a Democratic and Social State of Law, which promotes prosperity, welfare and the civilized co-existence for all Dominicans.
"But as in all societies that are open and pluralist, it is possible that some sectors do not value the government efforts, so it is worth remembering the immortal phrase of the apostle of Cuban Independence, Jose Marti when he said: "The sun burns with the same light that it illuminates. The sun has spots. The appreciative see the light. The ungrateful see the spots", said the President.
