Accused airport assailant sent to jail

A man accused of robbing two women after following them home from Las Americas International Airport has been sent to preventive custody at La Victoria Jail. Judge Keyla Perez Santana sent Ramon Antonio Liriano Pichardo (Kikito) to the jail while the case against him is prepared. He is accused of being a member of a gang that robs arriving passengers. An assistant prosecutor had initially ordered his release on the grounds that he was not a likely flight risk. The court also set bail for Rafael Alexander Coronado, owner of a cell phone business who allegedly bought one of the women's cellphones.
