The lawyer who represented drug kingpin Quirino Paulino Castillo is in trouble with the law. Judge Jose Reynaldo Ferreiras placed a RD$1 million bond, periodic visits to the court and an exit ban on Henry Alexander Duval Mendez who allegedly attempted to obtain some of the property seized from Paulino Castillo by fraudulent methods. According to El Nuevo Diario, the deputy prosecutors Francisco Polanco and Engers Reyna said that the lawyer filed a false claim on an IOU made out to Peruvian Luis Maliqui as a creditor, and without this person's knowledge sought RD$8.2 million from the Helvin Auto Import C x A that had belonged to Quirino. The case file says that Duval Mendez then proceeded to file a claim on 3,272 m2 of land that had been seized from Paulino Castillo in payment.
