The owner of the Premium Latin Music record company, Franklin "Junior" Romero is currently detained and in jail pending arraignment before the courts in New York after being arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute and money laundering that were filed in 2000. The record label owner had escaped to the Dominican Republic back in 2000. This is news because of the number of well-known artists represented on the label: Aventura, Eddy Herrera, Wason Brazoban, Rita Indiana, Anthony Santos and several others. Along with Romero, eight other people were included in the original accusation, including his girlfriend at the time, Maribel Cortes. According to El Nuevo Diario, the operation included money laundering and sending the proceeds back to Colombia.
