I have mongered in - who knows? - 30 or 40 countries, but I am relatively new to Latin America in general and the DR in particular. My Spanish is poor. I speak French fluently, so can read Spanish without much difficulty, and I can understand a lot if the music isn't too loud, but I can't speak for shit. Still, I have been around the block a few times and have a few points of comparison. I came to the DR for the first time about a month ago on business, not even knowing it was such a well-known sex tourism destination, and I am here now on my second trip, also business. In Santo Domingo only. I am not impressed. So some advice, please, from all of you who know this place well: am I frequenting the wrong places? Is it the language barrier? What?

On my first trip I stayed at the Hotel Embajador. Went to the casino, played some cards, saw some nice-looking girls, so decided to take one up to my room. We agreed on $80 US. Nice-looking girl, but she wouldn't kiss, wouldn't suck, and couldn't get her clothes back on fast enough once we had finished. I am not crass or boorish, I treat women well and with respect, and usually have a few laughs and overall fun with the girls as well as the sex. Usually pretty nice for all concerned, but definitely not this time.

Well, you can always find a lemon in the middle of a mango orchard no matter what, so I figured this was just the luck of the draw. This time, having read some of the threads, and since I am staying at the Intercontinental, I went to the nearby street that has 3 or 4 bars on it, including Satin Dolls, which is where I went. Tuesday night, so the girls outnumbered the guys 5:1. Sat with a very cute girl who had the kind of saucy attitude I like. Dickered over the price a bit, but agreed on 2,500 pesos short time . I know, I know, but without the language skills you often pay a bit over the odds. Pretty much the same story as before. Forget about comparing this experience with Thailand or Indonesia. Forget about comparing it with Mongolia or Senegal or South Africa or even Egypt, where I have had some mind-blowing encounters. It pales in comparison to so many any other places I will go back to any chance I get.

I did meet a 40-ish woman online (Adult Friendfinder) before I came down here the second time, and we met for drinks and what little Spanish conversation I could muster. I generally only dedicate one night per trip to the casas so I make a run on a half dozen of them. I start at midnight with an espresso at Manolo. Then I'll walk from casa to casa, having a club soda at each and checking the Chicas from a low key position. If I like what I see I may chat one or two up. If not, it's on to the next. By the time closing rolls around I will have collected a few options. Or not. If I really like one of the "live ins" fresh out of the campo I will do the (negotiated) bar fine. Sometimes I just call it a night and go call someone I already know or look for one of them at the casino.

One thing about Dominicanas...you can invite them to a party just about any time of day or night and if they don't have a BBD going on they'll hop in a taxi in a heartbeat and meet you there, bringing a friend if you ask (as long as your buying). it sounds like you enjoy the GFE aspect of it better than just just the short time. Casa Chicas arent going to provide that to you. They want their 3500pesos(3000 to them, 500 to the house) and they want to get back to the club and see if they can get another salida.

If you want the better service you gotta be able to communicate with them. You have a hidden weapon that you are not using. if they know you are a business man that goes to DR on business on a regular business they will look at you differently. You let them know you can be a repeat customer, you get their cell numbers, and you ask to see them on their day off. To the casa chicas and other hardcore chicas they see you as those 3500pesos for one night. If they think you will be those 3500 pesos every other month when you are on business they will give you that level of service to try to earn that repeat customer.

That's part of the Santo Domingo casa scene. Sosua is a completely different animal. play the repeat traveler/customer line and im sure the girls will look at you differently.

I've had some good luck with the casas. Like Greydread, I do some screening and casa hopping but a lot of it comes down to chemistry and seeing that she has a good time as well. Like he said, music, dancing, booze in the room (I like to keep Baileys around), porn, sex toys, each chica is different.

That plus some logistical thinking. All the Gazcue/Zona Colonial casas (except 305 and Baby Dolls) close at 1 or 2 a.m. depending on the day of the week. Girl's House and Satin Dolls will usually have some chicas hanging on the front porch after hours but it's a limited selection. So if you pull a chica from Girl's House, Satin Dolls, Sky High, Lapsus or La Parada after midnight, she won't be looking for another client that night. Check to see where she lives. If she doesn't live in the casa, she may not have to go back and may spend the night. Sometimes for compensation, sometimes not.

A lot of the chicas who don't live in the casas go to La Coppa, Myntz or Gotika after the casa closes. Sometimes for fun, sometimes for compensation.
