Writing in today's Hoy, Bernardo Vega compiles the results of the polls that were held in the run up to the PRD primaries. He says that given that it was an open primary in which anyone could vote, it was a difficult call. He said six of the nine polls that were published in the days leading up to the primary showed that Mejia would win. The polls that showed Mejia ahead were:
Berenson Strategies (10-19 Nov 2010): 58-38%
Asisa (5 Jan 2011): 56-43%
Centro Cibao (7-10 Jan 2011): 57.1-41.8%
Gallup (15-19 Feb 2011): 60.6-39.02%
Zobgy (22-26 Feb 2011): 60-38%
Asisa (4 March 2011) 64-36%.

The polls that showed Vargas leading were:
Hamilton (January 201) 63-35%
Alfonso Cabrera (6-12 Feb) 56.3-41.8%
Hamilton (24 Feb 2011) 764-35%

The one closest to the results released by the PRD Electoral Commission was from January, by Asisa and the one from Centro Cibao.

His analysis found that the poll companies that were closest to the final results in the 2008 election were Gallup, Penn & Shoen, Greenberg, ARG, Zobgy, Centro Economico del Cibao and Noxa-Clave.
