Dalia Fernandez, a tall, svelte beauty from Santiago is the new Miss Dominican Republic. She was chosen by the jury during an attractive ceremony held at the Fiesta Theater of the Hotel Jaragua last night. Katherine Cruz from Santo Domingo North was first runner up.
According to Hoy newspaper, the audience was not too happy with the judge's selection since Miss Cruz was the popular favorite. Miss Universe, Mexican beauty Ximena Navarrete, was the guest of honor.
