The Police have announced the rescue of two Canadians who had been kidnapped in Sosua, as reported in Listin Diario. The kidnappers demanded US$15,000 for their release. Imad Ibrahim, 29 and Nicolas Laquis, 32 were rescued by the authorities before the ransom could be paid. One of the victims, Ibrahim, attended a local casino to pick up the money in the company of one of his captors when he was rescued. The Police arrested Raffy Matos Silverio.
