Operations begin at the Cyber Park Film School located at the Las Americas Institute of Technology (ITLA) in Greater Santo Domingo. Workshops, courses and short decrees (diplomas) will be offered in audiovisual and cinematography studies. Eddy Martinez, president of the Board of Directors of ITLA, said the school will promote the new trends in the industry and will help prepare the workforce for the emerging film industry in the DR. Recently Pinewood Indomina Studios announced the construction of a major film production center in nearby Juan Dolio.
"The future is promising for the audiovisual industries and we need to emphasize several areas such as sound, effects, makeup and digital photography", said Martinez, as reported in Diario Libre.
