In their Tuesday session tomorrow, the Chamber of Deputies will consider the Executive Branch's observations about the National Council of Magistrates (CNM). These suggestions have already been considered and passed by the Senate.

The session is set for 10am, and the deputies will also consider the legislative proposal to develop the mortgage market. The legislation allows for the use of part of the money in the pension funds for housing construction. Diario Libre said that the proposal has already received a favorable report from the special commission that studied it.

The observations on the Law on the CNM include one that says that when neither the President of the Republic nor the Vice-President are present at the CNM meetings, the Attorney General of the Republic will chair the council meeting. Also, that the meeting should be convened in a period that does not exceed five days, beginning from the date of the first convocation, and this second convocation should be done, when it is necessary, within a period of five days.

Also, the senators voted for a suggestion on Article 13 that refers to CNM decisions, which will be valid with the favorable vote of the simple majority of the members present at the meeting and in the case of a tie the President will have the deciding vote.
