President Leonel Fernandez and the PLD Secretary General Reinaldo Pared Perez will meet with the aspiring candidates for the party's presidential nomination tonight in order to iron out the details of the nomination process.
The meeting is set for 7pm at the PLD Presidential Office, an hour before the Political Committee meeting set for 8pm. The decision was taken at the last Political Committee meeting.
Fernandez, in his role as president of the PLD, and Pared Perez, will have a face-to-face meeting with Danilo Medina, Rafael Alburquerque, Jose Tomas Perez, Franklin Almeyda, Radhames Segura and Francisco Dominguez Brito.
The PLD Political Committee agreed to convene the Central Committee for next Sunday, 20 March, in order to make the presidential candidacies official, and open the internal campaign.
