Does this mean you are going to be locked up when you try to come home...
Yeah, what happens if you overstay the 30 days without getting a Visa.
Also what happens if you only have a Mastercard....... :D

Jimmy, where did you hear this information? I just checked several sites including government sites and found nothing about this.

The max 10 days on a Tourist Visa has been in effect since late year, but it has a fine schedule that goes up to 10 years.

Stay long as you want, tell them you lost your tourist card, pay $20 dollars for another tourist card and get on the plane

You can get your DR residency in NYC. I need to get info on how to do that. I thought you had to do it in Santo Domingo

FROM DR1.COM
If I extend my stay over the 90 period tourist card, what happens?
Nothing. You have to pay a penalty. The scale starts at RD$60 for up to nine months. RD$100 for a year, RD$160 for a year to a year and a half. RD$200 for a year-and-a-half to two years. The maximum is RD$600 for staying more than five years.

I was there and saw the charts. I paid 300 pesos and thats the fee up to 90 days but they said it was changing June 1, 2005 to only 30 days.
