To save time, I never fill-out the tourist card. I just get it stamp and walk out. That’s a rookie mistake. I hope non of you veterans are filling the card out.

You can request a card when you check in at the airport prior to leaving. It's $1 more though than it would be if you buy it in the DR.

I know the last time there, they gave me the paper and stamped it, and I filled nothing out.

It's not really that I think that it is a big deal to get a tourist card when landing in DR, but any minute saved when on a short vacation in DR counts...

Has anyone tried to get a tourist card at the airport when leaving from MIA with AA and/or when leaving from FLL with Spirit Air?

Anyone who knows any travel agent in the Miami area where you can get a tourist card?

I usually buy 2 at a time and when I see there are no lines I buy another one. Last time I was on line for 30 minutes and that was the longest amount of time ever in Puerto Plata,

Hey Jimmy. Very smart of you to pruchase it ahead of time. I made a newbie mistake in my last trip. I thought they sold the toursist cards in the airplane. Dumb of me. lol

This time, when I get off, I am ready to go pass customs and immigration in three minutes!

On my last depature i sought to buy some cards in advance for customes ... they wanted $15 us each .. and t that they were scothed taped togerther ... so find a place to buy a bunch at a time ... or just walk right through.

Since we all know that we can purchase a tourist card at the ticket counter, after our trip, let's post how many minutes it took you to go through customs and immigration.

My goal is five minutes.

Hey Jimmy, sorry to hear that. Same here, it took me around half an hour. :(

There was a long line ahead of me for both the tourist card and the currency exchange rate place.

But next time, for you and me, it will take only 5 to 10 minutes!!!!!!!!!! 8)
