The police raided Hells Angels club premises in Montreal and surroundings and arrested members of the motorcycle club.

Hells Angels in Cabarete They are accused of being involved in the importation and distribution of cocaine and Ecstasy pills. The gang members were, until recently, regular visitors of Sosúa and Cabarete. The cocaine was smuggled from Santo Domingo to Canada by Hells Angels and there by the Italian Mafia, street gangs and the Hells Angels themselves, sold to customers. Given these arrests, it seems that Sosúa and Cabarete in the near future will no longer be honoured with a visit of the Hells Angels.

The news source said nearly 300 police officers conducted drug raids across the Montreal area, including the north and south shore of the island. “The Montreal organized crime division's anti-gang unit led the investigation dubbed Operation Acabar. The raids were aided by officers from the Sureté du Québec, RCMP (Mounted Police) and several local police forces.”

It adds that Some 200,000 ecstasy pills were seized, while several members of the gang could be extradited to the United States at the request of the law enforcement officials there.

Canada’s Mounted Police and local authorities conducted joint arrests of alleged members of the Hells Angels in the resort towns of Cabarete and Sosua as recent as last year, on charges of at least 17 murders mostly of members of rival bike gangs in Montreal.

Late last year local authorities reportedly raided the clubhouse of the Dominican biker group Los Barracos in Santo Domingo, as part of the ongoing investigation into the Hells Angels attempt to set up operations in the Caribbean country.

Some 200,000 ecstasy pills were seized. And several members of the gang could be extradited to the United States at the request of the law enforcement officials there.

They're scheduled to appear in court this afternoon.

The raids were centered largely on the east and north ends of the island as well as suburbs on the north and south shore, said Montreal police Const. Olivier Lapointe.

One of the raids took place at the Titanium Gym on Cremazie and St-Michel Blvds. where CTV Montreal cameras filmed three plain clothes police officers searching a van with the Titanium logo on it.

Lapointe told CTV Montreal's Cindy Sherwin on Thursday that the gym was a hotbed of drug activity with many transactions taking place there, and that it was frequented by gang members.

OK thanks for that, I read it 3 times, similar to every other Canadian and US report.

Can you highlight the exact bit for me where it reports Hells Angels were arrested?

I distinctly remember that they arrested one guy last year. The raid on los Barracos was a joke. They're still laughing about that one.

I know a couple of dozen of them.
