Pictures in the new forum, the "upload" button, VB Image Host, etc.

OK everyone, the good, the bad, & the ugly...

The author of VB Image Host basically couldn't keep up with the features of vBulletin.

I will change the display of thumbnails within VB Image Host but you may have noticed something missing "Upload"!

We need to move away from it and from now on VB Image Host will be strictly for an archive. The addon is no longer supported.

But the good new is Albums are just as good and even better in some ways, especially the fact you can have unlimited Albums, so you can organize your pictures. You can put 100 pics in each Album and make them Public or Private. So you can call your Albums "Trip 1 chicas", "Trip 2 Chicas", etc. Or in Jimmy's case "Day 1 Morning", "Day 1 Afternoon"...:rofl:

You need to save the picture and then click it, and then copy the link.

I might look for an addon to eliminate Friends from seeing Private Albums.

But as Jimmy said above, we can see everything, hell I have SQL & root file access I don't even have to log in to the board to see everything!

Also look at it this way, You cannot host a picture here to post on another forum, I have Rewrite rules to block image linking. So any pics you upload will eventually go into a post on this board.

And you couldn't post your pic in any post in any section that couldn't be read by a SuperMod anyways so no reason to block access to them.

Nah it was just a question of surprise. I sure can understand the need for safeguard of isoc. But I don't consider supermods as superGods or else, I write my trip reports for them as well so it is just a bluh feeling when I know that: psriches, Kevy or WSJ3 have seen ALL of my hot unposted pics already.

The File Upload Center is a total rewrite. There is no replacement and the author has been gone for 3 years.

Need to give me at least a week, but DON"T WORRY ALL YOUR OLD UPLOADS ARE STILL ON THE SERVER!

Ok I found out I broke it when I added the ability to see pictures posted in a thread that were stored in a private album.

I will work for the 100% fix but right now it's 99%.



Users will still be able to see Pictures posted in Threads that are stored in Private Albums! (Provided they have permissions to see the thread)
Users will be able to see the Directory of all of your Albums Public & Private, basically the covers!
BUT Users will not be able to see INSIDE your Private Albums!


So basically only your Album Cover will be visible. Feel free to upload and set a generic Private Album cover pic if you really want to be stealthy!

Was a wrong setting balancing closing private albums to friends and showing private albums pics in posts. Should be fine now.
