The Bravo awards, promoted by Latin Trade magazine, have named President Leonel Fernandez as their "Leader of the Year" for 2006. The Bravo awards are given to Latin American leaders for their contributions to the region's development. Fernandez was chosen for the award by the magazine's editors, and votes from 350,000 readers. Celebrations will be held on 26 and 27 of October in Baltimore, Maryland.
