Well guys the time has come. I will be booking another one of those american airlines flights to the DR tomorrow soon as my check gets deposited into my bank. I will be going again in august. This time i will be flying into Santo Domingo and an ex passions girl whos name i will not disclose is going to be meeting me at SDQ.

I will be spending a couple of nights with her there in Santo Domingo then jumping on one of those caribe busses and heading out to sosua for the remainder of the trip. Today I am trying to decide how many days to stay so I can book the flight tomorrow. I do know that i am leaving August 2nd. I am not sure if i should find a place to make reservations in SD or just wing it and leave it up to the Chica to find us a nice place upon arrival as she is from there and knows everything about the city.

I think i am going to just wing it in sosua for sure. I have stayed at Rockys the last two time i have went and NO offense at all he has a wonderful establishment and he is an awsome host but i Kinda wanna experience a different place this time.

I thought I was going to be going with 4 of my buddies but just as i expected everyone else balked at the last minute and that fell through the crack... their loss not mine. SO... it has been said, now let the conversations and recommendations roll. Im all ears... or should i say eyes......

Dude, on some real shit, If your going to SDQ, you should check out the local talent instead of bringing a chick.

If you want to spend time with a certain chick, I would choose Cabarette.

Have Fun....and don't hurt nobody. :iconTU:

Dont rely on her. Look at Koki's, Shredder's, Eastcoast's, or my reports and pick a place to stay.

While she is from there she only will know everything about her neighborhood. Unless she is from Gazcue, bella vista, or arroyo hondo you will not want to hang in her neighborhood for more than a 1 night.

Gazcue/Malecon/Zona colonial are the only places i have been to that are really built for tourism.

I have depended on girls (both hookers, and non) to make the plans, and they always do whats good for them not whats good for you. Only one completely looked out for me.

Remember it's your vacation, they are just enjoying your vacation with you.

Get to the las americas airport. Take a cab to the either the jaguar Hotel, or wing it on Calle Danae.

It's cool that you're checking out SD in addition to hitting Sosua again. I need to do that as well.

I know you like Passions so I'd recommend staying at D'Piero if you want to try a new spot since it's right there around the corner from Passions. I'll probably stay at Rocky's next time just because I missed being closer to the beach and Classico's last time, but D'Piero's is a cool change of pace.

Nice price. You know Spirit is down here now. I'm planning on flying Spirit from DFW to Santiago for 430 with the membership they have. Closer than SDQ and seems like a faster flight.

lol. no. DFW only. Since I live in Austin I don't mind driving the couple hours to DFW or Houston to save a couple hundred. For me, driving to DFW saves me about 300. Factor in gas and storage I'd say 250. That's basically my lodging for the week give or take. Worth the drive in my opinion. A bit further for you though.

Well good. Now its on to searching places to stay for a couple of nights in Santo Domingo. Im looking for something Nice and a little plush if they have that anywhere in the DR. I want to be close enough to where I can go out for a night or two to a few places and do some drinking and what not. And have a place with a nice pool where I can take this chica that im meeting in SD and relax and do that sort of thing.

I dont know about pools in Santo Domingo.

I heard the palacio in the zona colonial has a pool. Your not going to find a 1000-1500rd/night place with a pool. most of the places with pools will run you 60-100/night and those are the smaller boutique style hotels

Yeah I dont know the first thing about Santo Domingo but it is time that i expand my horizons since I always seem to have such luck in Sosua. i suppose its either sink or swim in a place like that. I am just going to jump in head first and see where it takes me. The only upside to it is that I will be with a chica whom i talk to frequently so atleast I have some help. I would have figured Santo Domingo being a big city and all would have some really nice plush places to stay. I would like a comfortable pent house suite type thing. Something that we can go out and do what ever we want to do then when we want to go and chill and relax it can be in comfort and atleast a little luxury. But then again like I said, I know nothing about SD so i may be in for a rude awakening.

The Jaragua Hotel has the nicest pool on the Malecon strip, imo. There is always a party going on there, and all kinds of interesting people to mingle with. They have a bar out there as well, Its a nice atmosphere. The Melia pool is a little smaller but also nice.
I would stay at one of these hotels, where u can also enjoy the casinos and live shows & u are just blocks away from all the Hot Clubs . Just keep in mind that you cant sneak the chicas in the Towers at the Jaragua, she will have to be checked in with you. If thats what you are doing, you will enjoy it. Or if you are planning on sampling a few others , then cabanas are just a taxi ride away. Just do a search, lots of info on Hotels in SD. The colonial zone is the other option.

The Barcelo Gran Lina (recently renovated like 5 yrs ago) .. they also have a very nice Large pool as well with a bar outside, and a big hot tub as well. they charge a sneaky guest fee though so make sure you ask up front.

They definetly have some nice places. Like JD said Jaragua, and barcelo lina are nice and have big pools. The lina has a resort Fee so you will have to check in your girl. The dominican fiesta looks nice and so does hispaniola. I have been to both for partying not to stay in the rooms.

The places in the zona colonial are pretty much boutique style so they are just fancier aparta hotels.

I'll ask around where all the Ballers stay but I'm assuming that will be the Jaragua. I would do Barcelo Lina again depending on my agenda. The pool is big, it is also nice a quiet during the week. You can check the post below from one of my old trip reports.

Are those hotels still not chica friendly? when i went there years ago to Santo Domingo i had to sneak a girl into my hotel for 1 night. the other nights the girls were afraid when i said my hotel name that they could not go there (jaragua). I hated that about that place. Hope it is different now..

Unfortunately they are not. The Jaragua used to be,like 6-10 years ago and it was a blast, but only back in the garden Rooms, definitely not the tower. No way you were getting into those elevators with a chica.. So the Cabanas were the only alternative, which if youre with a group of guys, its a lot of fun cause you can get adjoining rooms at the cabanas.
Last time I stayes at Barcelo Lina, about 4 ? years ago they were till IN the process of renovating ,the Hotel was still a very deep Red if that helps with the time line . Anyway the guards would gladly take 200 peso bribes and let you sneak the girls in any hour of the night so we thought it was a free for all.
But when we checked out, we got hit with a guest fee for a couple nights so we didnt save anything. But we did get them in, and had a lot of fun. Not sure how it is now. And yes, we had that huge pool almost to ourselves during the week. The breakfast was pretty good as I recall, and the girl that worked there seemed game too, one of them was hitting on me like crazy to take her somewhere after her shift.

Look through Kokis reports, he is there all the time and has more updated intel on the big Hotels. I highly recommend them, esp if you like to do laps in a big pool.

The last time I was in Santo Domingo, I was forced to stay at the Napolitano because it was shortly after the haiti earthquake, and there were very few vacancies due to all of the relief workers staying in the city. And the fact that there was an Aventura concert that night didn't help either.

I wouldn't recommend the Napolitano because it is too expensive for what you get. The hotel is in sore need of renovation. The rooms are oldn and the elevator takes forever to get to the upper floors. Yet they charged me $93 for a single.

But I have to say, the view from the rooms is very nice since the hotel is right on the Malecon. And the pool is pretty nice as well. It's on a deck overlooking the ocean.

And it was chica-friendly as of 02/2010. They didn't even ask for my chica's cedula.

Try Hotel Drake. It is located on Ave Bolivar, close to the US embassy. It is around 1,600 pesos. The hotel is fairly new. It has a pool and free breakfast. Internet in the lobby. Small Kitchen in the room.

True there is a lot of stories and intel about the Capital, but for myself and others going there for the first time it doesn't exactly seem like a simple rookie trip to Blackbeards. There seems to be alot of fun to be had in SD, but more potential things to go wrong in comparison to Sosua, Puerta Plata, BB's etc. after BLB's latest TR.

Just the fact that there are so many different areas in the city and that many say a car is needed indicate that it's not for pussies or lazy cats.

I'm gonna keep gathering intel as SD and Meddy are on my radar now. I say we give a man respect for expanding horizons.

My last trip was September 2007

http://news.insearchofchicas.org/forum/showthread.php?64994-09-2007-The-September-5-day-Santo-Domingo-Getaway-at-The-Marriott.

Stayed at the Marriott Courtyard and got passes to swim at the Marriott Jarragua.

Taxis are cheap enough to get around.

My thoughts exactly.... Although I have never been to black beards. But theres something about the thought of going to Santo Domingo by my freakin' self that makes me feel like im going to the DR for the first time again. Like i said the only thing that makes me feel ok about going alone is because there is going to be a pretty little dominican chica waiting at the airport when I land. because other than that i dont think i would know what to do. I could just see my self walk out of the airport In SD and the bright sun hit my eyes and I kinda do a 360 and say yeah..... ok what the fuck do i do now !!!!! lol kind of a where do i go from here sort of thing....lol

I am sure everything will work out fine, but Dominicanas being Dominicanas; Hell just being any young woman. She gets a better $$offer$$, she just plain changes her mind, etc, etc.

You may want to have a backup plan, so as not to be scrambling at the last minute to salvage your vacation.

Just food for thought!

Have a great time!!

yeah have a back up plan. thats a good point. i got stood up at the airport my first time, and but i was ready. I knew where i was going, and figured things out. of course i got a little lost here and there but i had maps, and phone numbers then i started my trip and met up with the girl later on.

Girls in DR arent known for their punctuality, and mass transit to the airport sucks.

If SD doesn't work out, you can always check out Boca Chica for the beach during the day and/or p4p at night. I saw some pics of chicas on the beach at BC-on another thread-and there were some hotties.

Members on here vary on their opinion of BC regarding p4p. Seems like it is either great or it is bad.

I can't believe that with at least 500 guys hitting Sosua on a yearly basis, each ISOC guy doesn't know at least a dozen other people and can't find 2 others to travel with.

With the issues some of these guys on here have when they get over to the DR I am not sure I would even want to travel around and have them as a wingman.... I dont want to bring that shit down on me. And usually it only takes being guitly by association. I have lots more fun with the chicas leaving giving me hugs or dap then i would jumping up on the the kitchen counters and the refridgerator trying to avoid a knife to the gut for something i dident do.,

I travel to Medellin with about 12 different guys who I all met in Sosua. Like I said, if each guy doesn't know 12, there must be something wrong.
