The Dominican Professional Baseball League has announced that the Caribbean Baseball Series will take place in Santo Domingo from 2-7 February 2012. The games will be played at the Quisqueya Ball Park. This is the 53rd year of the tournament that brings together the best of Mexico, Venezuela, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Juan Francisco Puello Herrera, president of the Baseball Confederation of the Caribbean said that a July meeting would be held to determine if the 2012 tournament could be played in the present round-robin format or in a two-round format. The games will be transmitted to the US markets by Imagina Television, a Spanish television station.
