Trip report October 2006

I traveled with my wingman Afterdark to Santo Domingo and we will pick up his friend Drkseed in Santiago Airport on Thursday.
Afterdark and I flew out of JFK Sunday afternoon on flight AA 635 at 1230PM and arrived at SDQ about 415PM.
For some reason my plans never work out in the Dominican Republic.
I arrived in Santo Domingo Airport. As I walk through SDQ terminal long corridor my friend had stopped at a cash exchange named “globo cambio”. My friend exchanged $200.00 and I exchanged $100.00 at 29.95 pesos to the dollar. I told him if we walk to the bank located by the tourist card booth I hope it’s not 33 pesos to the dollar. Of course, only a few seconds away at the bank the rate was 33 pesos to the dollar. I told my friend that is the first and last time I don’t trust my instinct on this trip. I have traveled to DR to many times to make mistakes.
“Do not exchange money at the “Globo Cambio.”
Globo Cambio is located in SDQ, POP and STI airport terminals.
Purchased a tourist card and proceeded through customs. Santo Domingo Airport is undergoing renovations. I noticed they keep the tourist card stub, so you don’t need to keep the stub anymore a turn it in upon departure. Waited a while for my luggage to show up on the belt and anyone that has been to SDQ knows the behavior around the luggage belt is a free for all. The best thing to do is tie something to your check-in luggage only you can recognize. At the luggage belt stand back from the crowd. When you seen your luggage just jump in there and grab it. It always works for me. Once you walk past Customs with your luggage everything has been relocated.
Proceeded to the Avis counter and the clerk was missing. The other rental agents were not to helpful so, after waiting about an half an hour for the clerk to show up one of the other rental car agents called the Avis office and they said to wait outside the building. I waited for another ten minutes and still no Avis van. I told my friend to watch the luggage and I will walk to the Avis office. At the Avis office there was only one clerk and he told me the other person that was suppose to be at the SDQ counter called out sick. I told him that is all good but, you need to place a sign informing people what to do. Someone went with the van and picked up my friend and other Avis renters from the airport and I got my rental about 45 minutes later with an upgrade to a jeep. Since I was driving to Sosua it will handle the roads.
Check-in at the Marriott Courtyard was ok, nice rooms and hotel. Called up my regular chica Julie and she said she will be over in the morning. My wingman and I met and another chica named Liz he was interested with so we ate Parrilla steak house on George Washington Ave. next the Dollhouse. That is my favorite place to eat in Santo Domingo. If you go, try the Pollo al Cabon or the Churasco Steak. Next, we went to the new to have a drink at the Hard Rock Café on El Conde. It was ok, nothing to brag about. So, we drove Liz home and called it a night. Sundays are dead in Santo Domingo and everything closed at 12 midnight and the police are everywhere after midnight.
So, the next day Julie came over and she could not come up to my room because she had no I.D. I have stayed at the Courtyard before and they usually required I.D. at night, but things have changed. Something must have occurred at the Marriott Courtyard to effect a policy change.
My chica said she lost her I.D. twice and it takes a while to get a new one. I crossed her off my list, but when I was talking to my chica a nice brown skin chica with a nice big Dominican butt walked into my sites. I said to myself some other guy going lucky.
So, I called Afterdark and told him about Julie’s problem and he said another one of his chicas Yoko arrived with her cousin Lee, but the cousin could not come up because of the I.D. policy. I have met Yoko on two other occasions in past trips.
So, we decided to leave the hotel and go to get our cell phones turned on in Arcropolis mall because Yoko has a friend with Orange phone service. Afterdark arrived in the lobby and introduced me to his chica’s cousin and guess what, it was the fine chica I saw earlier. First thing that popped in my mine I had to get rid of my chica.
We all piled in the jeep and went to Arcropolis mall. Now my chica is kissing and fondling trying stake her claim.
Now, I know my chica has to go to work, but she wanted to hang with us, so after we got the cell phones on, I drove home and told her I wanted to meet her mom. I knew the mom would not let her back out and it worked. My chica stayed home. I told I will call later but I knew I would not be seeing her on this trip again.
Next we went to El Conde had a late lunch at the Mercure hotel and went to get Yoko’s cousin I.D. so she can come to the room.
Got to the room and Afterdark had some Alize and those chicas finished that in an half an hour. Then I went to my room and made the some move on Lee got her top off and starting feeling on that brown bubble then the phone rings it was Yoko saying she and Lee had to go. So, we drove them home. It was late at night and Afterdark told me she was going to do anything tonight anyway and that was from her cousin. I believe she was ready. So, we called it a night again.
I am on my third day Tuesday and only had some tits in my mouth and my plans is not working out.
I have a few phone numbers of some chicas I met online a few months let see if the numbers are in service. Phoned one chicas but she never returned my call, Phoned the next and she said has to go to school but can meet me now at Jumbo mall. Phone another new chica and she will meet me at about 9:00 PM. Afterdark had nothing to do so I said let go to Jumbo Mall meet my chica. I met her, and she was a 9 beautiful and cool. We went shopping for some groceries and an early dinner and I drop her off at school. So, dropped off Afterdark at the hotel and met my 9:00 PM date. She was an eight but did not look nothing like the photos she sent me. I took her to dinner and drove to Independencia Ave and pick up a streetwalker and took her to the Cabana. She was okay big butt and tits till next week.
Third day, Wednesday I phoned another chica I met in April of this year in Santo Domingo but she lives in San Cristobal. I told her I was leaving to go home on Thursday so she came over and Afterdark and I took her to Pizza Hut on Maximo Gomez for lunch. After lunch she said will hang out with me on my last night, but after 9:00 PM.
The rest of day Afterdark and I drove to Boca Chica to visit his family and another one of his chicas.
Got stopped by the police driving through China town. All they wanted to check was my license, rental agreement and car registration.
Since we were leaving Santo Domingo the next day I hooked with my San Cristobal chica and she stayed with me part of the night and then she had to go home.
I check my cell phone and Lee and Julie try to contact me. Next time I will hook up with Lee.
I like driving up North I know at least three ways to drive up North. The long way on the highway and one short cut through downtown Santiago and the mountains and another shortcut through Moca/La Vega and the mountains. Since we had to meet Drkseed at Santiago airport we took the long way. It was not bad just a lot of slow moving vehicles and a few trucks you can pass if you can has enough power.
Picked up Drkseed and phoned Marco and told him will be arriving around 7:30PM. Two hours later we arrived in Sosua. I stayed in condo number 6 and my Afterdark and Drkseed stayed in Brooke’s condo. At $35.00 a night is cool you just can have any wild parties or loud chicas.
Dropped off our luggage at the condos and hit the strip. The weekend October 19th, 20th and 21st was a busy weekend. Walked the strip and ran into a buddy Afterdark and I worked with about tens years ago.
We hit Classico and Meringue Bar and both were very busy as usual. We settled at Sosua Life Bar because the guy at the door promised us free shots of Hennessey. I noticed a lot of Haitian chicas invaded Sosua and Cabarette. The Haitians are very aggressive in mannerism and behavior. One Haitian chica saw meet in Sosua Life Bar attached herself to me for a half an hour kissing face and rubbing my chest. I tried to lose her in Classico, but even in the crowd she found me. I finally asked another chica to pretend she was my novia and the Haitian departed.
Afterdark picked up a Haitian with a huge butt from Sosua Life and she made trouble for him.
The next morning we ate Rockys and ate there every morning. Drkseed wanted to try La Roca one night and was surprised that we paid a little over $20.00 in taxes for the three of us.
Most restaurants in DR charge two taxes when you in their restaurants. I noticed a meal can included up to 26% in taxes. Tip not included.
I live in New York City and stay away from over priced restaurants.
I ate at La Roca last December and knew they were overpriced, but one of my traveling companions was complaining and was tired eating at the inexpensive places we were eating between Cabarette and Sosua. He decided to eat at La Roca. When the bill of 3100 pesos was presented to our table needless to say he was singing a new tune. I have traveled to few places on this planet and I know never to eat around heavily traveled tourist areas.
I work as an accountant in a hotel in New York City and La Roca is very pricey for the Dominican Republic.
When I was exiting La Roca I saw a Dominican family eating a meal. I wondered how they could afford and why would they eat at that expensive eatery. That's when I learned about the two menus. I will never eat at La Roca again.
I would eat at Rockys for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is good, the menu is extensive enough for me and the prices are great.
There is a good place to eat Dominican food in Cabarette that is very cheap also. The beach can get expensive also.
The guy that runs stall #167 or #168 on Sosua’s beach charged me 120 pesos for a glass of lemonade, but he gives you free beach chairs and umbrella. Still too expensive for me.
Last December I ate at his place with a chica. It cost me about $15.00 a plate for fried chicken and french fries.
I ate at the Scandinavian Bar for lunch and the food was good and reasonably priced but it just took a while for it to get to the table.
El Toro Steakhouse was great and no tax was included in the price.
After the bars and clubs closed the street vendor selling pork and chicken sandwich for a 100 pesos was great.
I ate at Pj’s twice last year and I don’t recommend it. The food sucks.

Chicas! Chicas! Chicas!
From my observation, the chicas were plentiful and aggressive at times after the third day in Sosua I keeping my distance from most of them.
If you picked up a chica from Classico it would cost 2000 pesos. Most of the Chicas would screw a guy and be back out in the club or the street to earn more money a half an hour later.
All bars and clubs in Sosua close at 1:00 AM sharp Sunday thru Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays they close at 2:00 AM. I miss the good old days of everything staying open till the party stops.
If you picked up a chica outside on the street you can negotiate. I negotiated one chica for 1000 pesos outside Sosua Life.
A chica took us to Mangu Disco in Playa Dorado Puerto Plata. The entry fee was 150 pesos, you get a free drink and it closes at about 3:00 or 4:00 AM. The chicas are plentiful in Mangu also with a mix of tourist. Mangu is a bit different and fun
On Sosua beach you can negotiate with free lancers combing the beach. The chicas working in the bars on the beach are fare game also.
I have to stress is bring a good lubricant because those chicas insides are dry. I hate boning a chica and I pull out and condom is dry as air around you. I am 44 years old and need to feel the juices flowing.
Also, buy some Cialis, all that boning makes an old man non responsive. I had to give out some of my stash to both wingmen. First, my wingmen told they did not need it. Two days later they were asking me if Cialis really works. I gave them three pills each and in the morning they thank me.
We slept till about 10:00 AM, had breakfast at Rockys and then hit Sosua beach. About 5:00 or 6:00 PM we had lunch and when back to the condos to sleep it off. We would wake up and head out to Sosua strip about 11:00 PM.
In the past I would head out to the club about 1:00 AM. I see the bar and club owners losing a lot of cash because of the early closing.
I met three guys I have worked with in the past mongering around Sosua. Sosua is becoming very popular in the past few years. The word is out on a mongering destination 31/2 hours away.
“All in All.” I enjoyed my trip and trying to plan another in January. If airfare was cheaper I would go in December too.
