For the third week in a row, public school teachers and their family members are being denied the use of health services at private clinics belonging to the National Association of Private Clinics and Hospitals (Andeclip) due to alleged non-payment of the Teacher's Medical Insurance (ARS-Semma) by the Health Risk Administrator.

Diario Libre reports that Andeclip president Rafael Mena is waiting for Education Minister Josefina Pimentel to invite him to talks about possible solutions to the stalemate between Semma and the private clinic owners.

Meanwhile, the Semma authorities are working on the comparison of invoices with some of the owners of private health centers with the aim of getting their payments up to date. They are also trying to reach agreements with others in order to send them patients. Some have accepted the proposal and others have not. When the president of Andeclip announced the decision to suspend the services to the teachers, he did it on the grounds that Semma owes more than RD$3 million, including some months from last year and since January up until now.
