A fugitive from justice in Sweden, where there was a warrant for the kidnapping of a child, was captured yesterday by members of the National Police Central Department of Criminal Intelligence assigned to the OCN-Interpol in Santo Domingo. The agents rescued and delivered a little girl to the authorities of the National Council for Children and Adolescents (Conani). The woman who was arrested was identified as Helena Marie Irene Agnvall, who took her five-year old daughter out of Sweden in 2007 and travelled illegally to the Dominican Republic, where she lived in Sosua in order to evade persecution from her country.
She was arrested on an international warrant issued by the courts in Stockholm. The legal documentation says that the father has legal custody of the child.
