Cabarete comes together to support local education and have a lot of fun at the same time this Saturday 4 June. DREAMin Live presents the 2010 "Blues Guitarist of the Year" Eric Gales and Doug Wimbish from the group Living Colour. Two of Cabarete's own, Van Avakian and JP Polsoni will accompany them on the drums and guitar, adding a local flavor to this truly outstanding collaboration. The show will take place at Nikki Beach Cabarete and is absolutely free, with a portion of Nikki Beach's proceeds going towards the DREAM Music Program and educational initiatives.
The DREAM Project, with the support of JetBlue, Jazz Dominicana and the US Embassy's Office of Cultural Affairs, Centro Franklin, will promote the event, attracting thousands of rock and roll fans, both national and international, to the beach at Cabarete. In addition to the show, DREAM will hold a special brunch at 11am, Saturday, June 4th for the entire family to launch a full day of fun.
This pre-concert event will include the best of a "chill out" Nikki Beach ambience, with delicious food, incredible music, a silent auction and children activities that offer something for the entire family.
Cabarete is a DREAM community and the weekend's proceeds will go towards innovative education and music programs that invest in their most valuable natural resource: children.
DREAM is a US and Dominican registered non-profit organization that promotes quality education for more than 2,500 children annually along the north coast of the Dominican Republic. DREAM believes that quality early childhood education and continuing education is the most effective way to break the cycle of poverty and change the future of the Dominican Republic. Their mission is to implement community-based initiatives and sustainable solutions to alter the face of education in the country.
