The Ministry of Industry & Commerce has announced new increases in the prices of gasoline, diesel and other fuels in the DR. So far this year, the Ministry has increased the price of premium gasoline by RD$42.3 per gallon, while regular gasoline has increased by RD$49.80. Premium diesel has gone up by RD$45.37 so far this year, while regular diesel is up RD$45.50. Avtur has increased by RD$39 this year. Propane gas has suffered the lowest level of the increases, with RD$14.06 in the first five months of the year, as reported in Diario Libre.
In December 2010, premium gasoline was selling for RD$170.80 a gallon. Today it sells for RD$223.10. Regular gasoline was selling for RD$160.50 and now costs RD$210.30.
Diesel was selling for RD$143.90 in December 2010 and now sells for RD$189.40. Premium diesel was selling for RD$149.90 and now sells for RD$195.27.
Avtur was selling for RD$118.02 and now goes for RD$157.02.
Propane was selling for RD$87.79 and now costs RD$101.85.
In December 2010, the price of petroleum was US$87.86 and now sells for US$100.50, for an increase of US$12.64.
As reported in Diario Libre, consumers in the DR pay RD$73.81 in taxes per gallon of premium gasoline.
