The Dominican Republic's women's volleyball team defeated Cuba 3-1 on 4 June in the Chinese International Volleyball Tournament held in Beilun, China. The sets were 25-19, 20-25, 25-20 and 25-21 for the second Dominican victory in this event, after their victory in its previous game against the Netherlands.
The winning team had Altagracia Mambru and Priscilla Rivera as its top scorers with 17 and 13 points, respectively. Cuban Yoana Palacios notched up 21.
The tournament was won by China, with the DR coming in second place. Coach Marcos Kwiek said the tournament showed that the DR team has begun to employ a great offensive capacity. The tournament ended with China (3-0), the DR (2-1), Cuba (1-2), and the Netherlands (0-3).
