The private naval rescue crew proved their worth when the organizer of the Santo Domingo Yacht Club 46th Annual White Marlin Fishing Tournament was rescued at sea. The tournament is underway in Punta Cana (8-11 June). Tony Rivera, director of the event, was rescued at sea after his yacht Embromona hit a tree trunk that cracked its hull causing the boat to sink. Rivera and boat captain Julian Geronimo radioed for help 25 minutes before the ship sank. An immediate search began.
