The Ministry of Hacienda has announced a campaign of zero tolerance for illegal slot machines. The slot machines operate from grocery stores, billiard halls, bars and other locations. Inspectors from the Commission of Casinos, accompanied by an assistant prosecutor, are traveling nationwide to seize this type of equipment. Hacienda Minister Daniel Toribio says the operation seeks to protect household economies and called for all citizens to cooperate by denouncing the illegal locations of the slot machines. He said children have been victims of the machines, as reported in Listin Diario.
