The government's economic team has handed in its project for what they call "fiscal corrections" and what others are calling a new tax plan. As a result, Fernandez will address the nation next Tuesday to explain exactly what is involved in the new plan, especially the details of the Selective Consumer Tax and the extension of the VAT tax base. Finance Minister Vicente Bengoa, who met with the President for more than three hours yesterday, said that the team explained the details of the "correction" to the President. Bengoa refused to give reporters any hints about the details of the package.
