"Clean Water, Healthy Mangos" is the theme of this year's Expo Mango in southwestern Bani, about an hour's drive west from Santo Domingo. The event is organized by the Cluster of Mangos of the Dominican Republic, with support of Peravia Province authorities. During the exhibition that began on Thursday and continues through Sunday at the central park in Bani, more than 100 varieties of the delicious summer fruit will be on show and are available for sale. The exhibition seeks to promote mango production and create awareness among Dominicans of all the varieties in Bani that can be cultivated in other parts of the country. The south-western province of Peravia (Bani) is the main center for mango production, with the largest plantations and the greatest variety. Mangos are mainly produced for export.
