You need to go to Sosua or Boca Chica for a beach.

Trevor
If you can still book into the New Garden at the end of the month you will never get a better intro to the Dominican Republic. The guys will give you a lot of useful pointers to save you money and avoid mantraps (though nothing is 100%!). You can socialise with them as little or as much as you want. You won't be pressured to be part of a group all the time if you don't want that, but they will be around when you need company or advice. A lot of guys prefer to hunt alone and ISOC works for them too. It even works for oddities like me! I am only sorry I cannot be there with all the guys.

can u guy's help a nrookie out? do you use your own cell in DR or a disposable like TrackPhone?buy an inexpensive one from orange or verizon. the player on the highway has a cellphone shop in it and the price is right...like $20-30 i seem to recall. this will/should include activation and a small, 100+ peso, time card.

if you meet up with other ISOC they should be able to help you or go to Rocky's or the Shark Bar and ask for direction...they'll be happy to help.

there are other places that sell new and used cellphones too. do a search here for "cellphone" and you'll probably get all the info you need.
