Me and my cousin are going to sosua 7/22-26 staying at new garden im coming into pop at 2:30 am and not checking in too NG till later that after noon. I was thinking about staying at a hotel near pop till my cousin comes in later that morning. Would it be smarter too just pay the extra day at NG and go directly there or rent a room near pop for a few hours. If any body knows any hotels in that area it would be great and also looking for a chica to spend the time with would be great

From a newb, I'd just say come straight to newgarden, leave bags behind bar, have a few , and probably tap the chica at the table next to you to crawl under your table for a bj(joke) ,, but serious on that and or if rick is at rocky's same street you could trust him with your bags and just stroll till check in. I think new garden will pick you up for 20 bucks, not sure though, good luck and have a great trip!

Its all about what ever you want to do. That is the good thing about the D.R. You make what you want to happen, happen. But I can assure you the chicas will not be hard to find. They are litterally everywhere.

Just barter a short stay at just about any hotel, ignore every dominican on the street ( literally ) and leave your bags at new garden, than got to disco in casino, open till 6 or 7, get chica to find you a 500 peso short stay room and bang till morning, again this is just my opinion, and I'm here on my first trip . Good luck. If ya wanna be real safe ( I'm not ) call new garden and get them to arrang everything for you, even a cheap hotel around the airport if that's what ya want for when ya land, the places your staying at will be as close as you can trust compared to any other dominicans you'll ask when you arrive, imho

The airport is a lot closer to Sosúa than it is to the city of Puerto Plata. I would go to Sosúa.

There is a new cabaña called Secreto Dulce in Sosúa where you can get a room for short time - 3 hours - or longer. I copied and pasted this post by Stevie Wonder from another thread which has the pricing for Secreto Dulce:

I would take a cab from the airport to Secreto Dulce in Sosúa, get a room there for short time, leave my luggage in the room, take a motoconcho (motor cycle guy) to After One disco in Sosúa (open till 6 or 7AM and with chicas available who are left over from the discos that close at 3AM) and pick up a chica there (that should take no more than 10 minutes:rofl:), get on a motoconcho with her and go back to Secreto Dulce, and then afterwards go for breakfast and go get your cousin at the airport.

Your best is to pay for the extra day in NG. There are no hotels near the airport.
The airport is much closer to sousa than pop and you have to factor in the cost
of taking a taxi to sousa or pop. POP is going to cost more.

If you are arriving @ 2:30, you might get lucky picking up a stray that late or you
may want to go the the disco in the casino. I forgot how late it stays open.

If you are arriving that early in the morning, you better make arrangements with
manager @ NG. In the past, he has left the room key with the guard.

I havent read the rest of the thread yet but this is a terrible idea. The POP airport has no lounge to hang out in. Everything is outdoors....

Dont worry about bartering, or haggling with anyone. Trying to find a hotel room at 3am is for very advanced travelers.

Pay the extra night at new garden. Make it nice and simple for yourself. Get in, get some rest and start your vacation the next day.

Hi and welcome to ISOC. I hope you and your cousin have a great trip and tell us all about it afterwards (preferably with pictures).

I think what may be misleading you is that POP (the airport) is some way from Puerto Plata city and is in fact very much nearer to Sosúa and the New Garden. There are no hotels you would want to stay in that are significantly nearer to POP airport than the ones in Sosúa like the New Garden.

New Garden veterans will know more than me, but I would have thought if you arrive at New Garden at night (say around 3.30am) the management could find some place to safely store your stuff until you can book in if you alert them in advance. And if the occupant of your room books out earlier you might be able to get into your room before the check-in time. (When is that? 2.00pm?)

If the New Garden aren't helpful then book a cheap room at Rocky's or Don Antonio (and the Sosúa guys can probably suggest other alternatives).

Is your cousin capable of finding his own way to Sosúa or are you planning to go back to the airport to meet him?

As for finding a chica that morning, you would be lucky to find one near the airport, and even if you did you have nowhere to do her. If you have a temporary room in Sosúa then you won't have that problem, though there are not many chicas wandering around early mornings these days unless they are real street-rats.

What time does Passions open? At least if you take a chica there a shower is included in the deal.

I cannot advise you better because there are so many unknowns, but I just wanted to warn you that the idea of finding a hotel and chica right near the airport is a non-starter. Unless you just wait at the airport for your cousin to arrive, you are going to have to travel into Sosúa to find them. It is about 5 miles and (I think) $20 by cab.

Hey, the four guys above all type faster than me! All four have come up with some good ideas, especially about going to the Casino and the cabaña. I am tighter than a duck's ass when it comes to spending money, and I understand you will be keen to get stuck into the mongering, but I must say BigLongBeach's idea seems most sensible. Once your cousin arrives you two will probably want to party later that night and if you have been fucking around late the previous night you will run out of steam.

Das booty had a good idea i figure why not go 2 places since im already reserved at ng the next day but i will be going into sosua when i get off plane. My cousin can get to ng when he get there thats not a problem i dont have to meet him i just want to get the most bang for my buck and ng already double the price of the other places ive seen on the board. At 3AM hop on a moto and tell them to take you to Sosua Bay casino. The After One disco is there and you will have no trouble partying and finding a chica.
