DR Jazz Festival 2011

Dates are 10th, 11th and 12th November 2011.

Artists and format not known yet.

Last year the first day was held in Santiago with the last 2 days on Cabarete beach.

For those of you who are too clueless to leave the comfort zone of Sosua you will be pleased to see that the Santiago venue used in previous years has been dropped and two nights are now being held in Sosua...lol:lol:

(I guess Illana's new Sosua does have some advantages!!):wink:

Damn. It looks like I fly out to texas on the 9th. I am thinking about spending that weekend in austin so my live music jones will be taken care of.

Yayow. . .have you gone to see live Jazz at dominican fiesta on fridays? We have gone a bunch of times. Pretty high brow crowd but some decent music. Onie night they did jazz versions of marley tunes etc.

LOts more music popping up in DR. That is a good thing. Some ex pats also have a blues/rock band that plays around. They used to jam at chalet suiso.

What type of crowd will you find in these places, love me some live jazz as you know, one of the things I miss about not being in NY anymore. Although I know you aren't focused on the chicas that show up, but are there single ones, or just mostly couples attending these performances?
