... delayed a vote on a plan to raise the debt limit to avert a default. Japan&#39;s currency reached 77.48 per dollar, the strongest since March 17, before trading at 77.61 as of 11:48 am in Tokyo. The yen reached a record 76.25 per dollar on March 17.
