Non pro Bars

Hi,
Can anyone suggest any bars in Santo Domingo where my mates and I could go to find some non pros. Is there any local bars that 5 foreingers would be welcome. Is there any bars with pool tables in Santo Domingo. ?
I have heard that there are some nighclubs near avanida Venzuela(have I got that right).

Any help will be much appreciated.

Near the Hotel Jarragua there is a street lined with bars and restaurants where the locals go. I know that area is pretty safe for a group at night.
