Heh heh, in the beginning, they required long pants and jackets to get in the theater, but that didn't last too long.
Not a bad experience for a movie theater, but I'll stick with my 10ft. screen at home..

I saw James Bond, Casino Royale. I thought it was a pretty good movie (but the girls were ugly).

I paid 350 pesos for a VIP seat.

Do you know where the Hilton Hotel is? The Malecon Center is right next to the Hilton Hotel.


The address for the Hilton Hotel is George Washington Avenue, #500.

If you plan to visit the Malecon Center from Boca Chica, then I recommend that you rent a car. Because if you take a cab, then it will cost you around 1,000 one way (2,000 for both ways).

Or you can take the bus. But I do not recommend taking the bus late at night (inconvenient, time-consuming, and a risk for danger).

Good looking out cheeno....yes I plan to rent a car and take my shorty out of boca chica, never been to a movie theater in her life!!!! wow I want to see her eyes light up in the mall and a tour of santo dom so i'am reading all your threads,very helpful brother I fell like I been there all ready... and info on that vip and the price is right on the money.....so again look out for me I will be asking more silly questions...........lol

P.S. the map was helpful and so far 've been good at night even by myself i've been in places in the d r no one has messed with me yet so night travel is all good to me until someone pulls a gun or a knife other than that no fear.............

By far the easiest way for you to get there would be to take the main highway into the city.
As you're coming into the city, you'll go through the long tunnel, and when you come out, you'll see the bridge over the river in front of you.
Stay in the middle lane across the bridge, and as soon as you come off, you'll see the elevated highway entrance ahead.
Go up on the elevated, stay on it through the city, and when it finishes, you'll see the tunnel ahead that goes under Maximo Gomez.
You don't want to go under Maximo Gomez. You want to go to the right side of the tunnel, so you can turn left on Maximo Gomez.
As you go down Maximo Gomez towards the ocean, you'll come to a detour, where you have to turn left to go around the new subway construction.
You won't have a problem with the detour. Just follow the cars, since they're all taking the same detour.
You turn left, go a couple of blocks, turn right, go a couple of blocks, then turn right again, go a couple of blocks, and you're back to Maximo Gomez.
Turn left, go the rest of the way down to the Malecon, and turn right.
You'll see the Malecon Center ahead on the right, it's a group of three highrises painted yellow.
It all sounds complicated, but it really isn't.

Snacks (e.g. popcorn, chocolate, hot dogs, soda, etc.) are not included. But if you order them, they will bring it to your seat.

The theater is so large and never crowded, you can make out while watching the movie. :wink:

The Bella Vista Mall and the Malecon Center are in two different directions.

The Malecon Center is right next to the Hilton Hotel (in the Malecon).

I have not been to the movie theater at the Bella Vista Mall.

For shopping, Bella Vista is a much better mall.

For eating, it depends on what you like. The Malecon Center has Harry's, Tony Roma's, a pizza joint, etc.

The Bella Vista Mall has Taco Bell, Burger King, a pizza joint, and a few Dominican restaurants.

As for parking, the Malecon Center is MUCH MORE convenient!!!

A Sushi place will also be open soon. I have tried Sushi at the Hilton once and I doubt it was prepared by a Japanese Chef. I have yet found a nice Sushi place in the DR.

The only fresh Sushi I found was from restaurants such as The Girl's House. :D

This is a pretty nice bar with a cool atmosphere. It is located on the second floor. A lot of hot girls come here to dance and chill.
