The National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE) has described as "irresponsible" the way the government has been reporting on the national debt, as reported in El Dia. ANJE criticized the government for trying to minimize the current levels of debt compared to the debt taken by exporting countries such as Mexico. ANJE president Lara Guerrero said that the Dominican Republic does not have the same payment capacity. "If the government does not set policies that enables it to have greater liquidity, it cannot continue to take on debt, because the economy is not armored". She complained the government is constantly changing the rules of the game, with a negative effect on investments. She added that information provided by international organizations like the International Monetary Fund is passive when focusing on the performance of the economy. "Often one does not know if they are government employees," she said. Guerrero was speaking during a press conference where the Coalition for Transparent and Independent Justice criticized the scant transparency shown during the first meeting of the National Judicial Council (CNM), which was held behind closed doors.
