The Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources has issued Resolution 11-2011 that will permit limited, controlled hunting in sorghum, corn and rice fields on weekends and holidays. An article in Listin Diario does not specify what will be hunted, but the logical conclusion is that doves, pigeons, and other birds will be the prey.
The Resolution also establishes that all activity that in any way, shape or form disturbs any of the nation's wildlife is totally prohibited. This ban includes invertebrates, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals, which are in their natural habitat in the environments under the control of the Ministry.
