The National Judicial Council (CNM) has a list of 285 candidates for the posts of judge for the Supreme Court of Justice, Supreme Electoral Court and Constitutional Court. 100 of the applicants are working judges. As reported in Diario Libre, the candidates include two judges of the Supreme Court of Justice (Rafael Luciano Pichardo and Julio Anibal Suarez), 85 Courts of Appeals judges who are seeking promotion, 12 of the 284 first instance court justices and one of 157 justice of peace. 206 of the hopefuls are men and 79 are women.
