The Haitian authorities have freed seven Dominicans who were arrested and thrown into prison in Port-au-Prince after a confusing incident. According to El Caribe, Ramon de la Rosa, the consul general of the Dominican Republic in the Haitian capital, reported that the Dominicans were handed over after the Dominican authorities filed the legal paperwork. No charges had been filed against the seven, and they were immediately taken to the frontier and returned to the Dominican Republic. Haitian President Michel Martelly and the Minister of Justice gave the release order, but an official press release does not reveal the circumstances of the arrests, or give their names.
